„In 2008 Maldivian authorities took matters into their own hands. In 2008 the former president Mohamed Nasheed proposed to purchase land elsewhere so the population could relocate should sea level rise make the islands uninhabitable.

Unexpectedly, the topic returned in September 2019 at the climate summit in New York. The United Nations have developed Nasheed’s plan and announced the Supergallery project.
